What is Sailor Moon?

General Info

Sailor Moon is a Japanese animation series otherwise known as anime (pronounced AH-nee-may) created by Naoko Takeuchi. It was originally tareted at 12-14 year old teenage girls, but has gained popularity with all ages and genders. (so don't feel strange if your a boy and like it.)
Sailor Moon has become one of the most popular anime series ever. It is among the top ten shows in Canada, Japan and many European countries. It has been translated into English, Spanish, German, French, Turkish, Swedish and Chinese. It has aired in Japan for 5 seasons each with a slightly different name they are: 
                 Season #1: Sailor Moon
                 Season #2: Sailor Moon R
                 Season #3: Sailor Moon S
                 Season #4: Sailor Moon Super S or SS
                 Season #5: Sailor Moon Sailor Stars
There are also Sailor Moon R and S movies that follow those two series. Sadly the series ended on Febuary, 8 1997 with the 200th episode.

About the show

Sailor Moon is about a crybaby 14 year old with long blonde hair that has "meatballs" in it. She named is named Serena. She and her four friends Mina, Amy, Raye, and Lita are pretty normal teenagers. They love to shop, talk about boys, and sometimes get in arguments.(especially Serena and Raye). They all wear the sailor-type japanese school uniforms, but when they transform into the show's heroines Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, and Sailor Jupiter they all have short sleeves and really short skirts. They are the Sailor Scouts. With the help of Tuxedo Mask and the two cats Luna and Artemis they fight to keep the evil Negaverse and then the Wiseman from taking other the earth.
